Back and forth

Acrylic and oil on canvas. 48”x 36”.

These works are a way of looking back at past. When past is reconstructed in today’s terms there is fragmentation and disruption of the ‘original’ image. I have in a way continued my exploration and engagement with Gandhi here as well. Archival photo of Bapu from Sabarmati Ashram museum has been recopied, but as reflected in a special mirror. The resultant fragmented image becomes a source of these works. Past seen in today’s mirror is intriguing.
