Mentee Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the MentorAndYou platform, owned and operated by StartupYou. By registering as a mentor, mentee, or partnered organization, you agree to comply with these Terms.
Definitions
Mentor: An individual providing guidance, advice, or expertise to Mentees on the Platform.
Mentee: A registered student or individual seeking mentorship.
Partnered Organization: An institution or entity providing mentors, guest speakers, lab facility and technology support or other resources to the Platform.
Admin/Company: StartupYou, responsible for managing and maintaining the Platform.
Eligibility
Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
Mentors and Partnered Organizations must possess the qualifications, expertise, and/or authorization to provide mentoring services.
Obligations of Mentors
Maintain professional conduct and integrity at all times.
Provide accurate profile information and keep it updated.
Respect confidentiality of Mentees’ data, discussions, and intellectual property.
Honour confirmed appointments and provide timely responses to booking requests.
Avoid soliciting or engaging in any personal, financial, or commercial activities unrelated to mentorship.
Disclose any paid mentorship arrangements (if applicable).
Understand that violations may result in suspension or termination of access.
Obligations of Partnered Organizations
Ensure that mentors or representatives provided are qualified and adhere to these Terms.
Maintain confidentiality of all Platform-related data and Mentee information.
Avoid unauthorized use of the Platform for marketing or unrelated activities.
Cooperate with the Company in case of disputes, complaints, or audits.
Obligations of Mentees
Provide truthful information in their profile.
Use the Platform solely for mentorship purposes.
Attend scheduled sessions punctually and provide constructive feedback.
Respect the mentor’s time, confidentiality, and intellectual property.
Avoid misuse of mentor content, communication channels, or Platform features.
Understand that violations may result in suspension or termination of access.
Confidentiality & Data Protection
All parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary, personal, or sensitive information obtained through the Platform.
The Company will handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Payment Terms (If Applicable)
We value and appreciate mentors who give back to the student community and support startups on a voluntary basis. In cases where an honorarium or payment is involved, all terms, including rates and payment methods will be shared with both parties (mentor and mentee) in advance.
Content And Intellectual Property
Users retain ownership of content they upload but grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute such content on the Platform.
The Company may remove any content deemed inappropriate or in violation of these Terms.
Limitation of Liability
The Company provides the Platform on an “as-is” basis and does not guarantee specific outcomes from mentorship.
The Company is not liable for any disputes, damages, or losses arising from interactions between Mentors, Mentees, or Partnered Organizations.
Termination
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account for breach of these Terms, misconduct, or misuse of the Platform.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of [Insert Jurisdiction].
Any disputes shall be resolved through mediation, failing which they will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [Insert Jurisdiction].
These Terms and Conditions govern your participation as a mentee in the Mentor & You platform operated by Startup You. By registering and using this Platform, you agree to abide by the following Terms:
Eligibility
You must be a registered student (Grades 9–12) at Indus International Schools.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information in your profile.
Obligations of Mentees
As a Mentee, you agree to:
Use the Platform solely for mentorship, learning, and project development purposes.
Be punctual and prepared for scheduled sessions.
Respect your mentor’s time, confidentiality, and intellectual property.
Provide constructive feedback about sessions when requested.
Avoid misuse of mentor content, communication channels, or Platform features.
Not engage in any personal, financial, or commercial arrangements with mentors outside the Platform without prior approval.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
You must maintain confidentiality of any personal, proprietary, or sensitive information shared by your mentor or peers.
The Company will protect your personal data in line with applicable data protection laws.
Intellectual Property
Any ideas, projects, or intellectual property created by you remain your ownership.
Sharing your work outside the Platform requires prior approval from your school or program coordinators.
Attendance and Conduct
You are expected to attend all scheduled mentoring sessions.
Repeated no-shows, misconduct, or misuse of the Platform may lead to suspension or termination of your access.
You must always follow school rules and the program’s code of conduct.
Limitation of Liability
The Platform and mentors provide guidance and learning support but do not guarantee academic, business, or financial outcomes.
The Company is not liable for any disputes, damages, or losses resulting from mentor–mentee interactions.
Termination
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or misuse the Platform.
You may withdraw from the program by notifying your school’s SPOC (Single Point of Contact).
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws.
Any disputes will first be resolved through mediation. If unresolved, they will fall under the jurisdiction of courts.
